4,5 stars!I would have given this book 10 stars...
IF...Now I'm in a dilemma. To review this book without giving anything AWAY is both - simple and damn difficult. Simple because it is Tom Mendicino, and I LOOOOVE his writing, I LOOOOVE how he makes me feel, how he WRITES his characters and how I'm CONNECTED to them.
BUT WHY FGS did he do it to me?! I was a good reader, I'm a nice person. Don't I deserve something more simple, predictable, ACCEPTABLE, not that PAINFULLY-emotional, not that OMG-I-AM-CLOSE-TO-A-HEART-ENDING?!
I needed two days to think about my rating. Did I really want THIS ending? Do I have any rights to demand this story to be ended the way I could find comfortable and...artificially believable? Where is a balance between the writing style, the plot and a reader's WISH?
Didn't I mention that Tom Mendicino writes REAL? Why I'm complaining? Do I?
No. THIS author became my ABA(automatically-buy-author), and THIS BOOK is a living proof for it.
I'm not going to say a lot. The novel is not too long, and everything you need to know, you can get out of the blurb.
Just remember: The journey is the reward.
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL JOURNEY TOM, KC and CHARLIE!
P.S If I scared you--->it is not without a happy ending, but of another kind. Just to let you know.
