I don't know what to say, except
IT IS ABOUT WHAT
AND IT IS ABOUT HOW.
It was short- unfortunately!- but it was one of the best, if not the best YA novels I've EVER read!
The idea with a camera work and its fulfillment was BRILLIANT!!!!!
Jameson POV was great!
EVERY LITTLE DETAIL IN THIS BOOK WAS PERFECT.
Cue up the Bon Jovi again, from that triumphant 'na-na-na-na' section near the end, and bring the camera back out through the back windshield, panning out and upward, lifting higher over the street as a car drives into the evening with two boys inside it, read taillights receding in the growing night, off on their great adventure together.

P.S And don't miss a small sequel White Lines told from Tristan POV, a cherry on the top! Beautiful!
